Celebrating Inspirational Women and OQ Connections
We were absolutely thrilled that Rhian Mannings MBE, former Head of Junior Games, invited Becky Wilde to share her incredible story at our recent International Women’s Day event for 2wish, the charity founded in memory of Paul and George Burke.
Paul, an ex‑pupil of Queens, and his Son George sadly died in 2012, and it was truly moving to see the Old Queenians community continue to support the charity created in his name.
Becky was simply phenomenal. Hearing her speak about winning her Olympic bronze medal and the challenging, determined journey that took her there was nothing short of inspirational. Her honesty, resilience, and passion captivated everyone in the room.
It’s moments like these that show the power of connection, community, and shared history. We absolutely love seeing Old Queenians supporting one another and inspiring the next generation.
Thank you, Becky, for lifting the room.
