Seventy years of memories: a very special reunion

16th September is a special date for a particular group of Old Queenian's - it was the first day at Queen's 70 years ago for Jim Wiltshire, Richard Coggan, Lionel Frewin and their friends. To mark the occasion, Jim organised a wonderful dinner for OQs who were at the school in the 1950s and 60s to celebrate the sigificant milestone. They were joined by Roger Evans, OQ and former Chemistry teacher 1958-1971. Oake Manor Golf Club near Taunton provided the perfect location, and after a three course dinner, the group were entertained with speeches by Julian Noad, the current Head of College, and Jim Wiltshire sharing his reflections as a survivor of '55 (a phrase coined by Tim Mason, who flew in from the States to attend the dinner). Geoff Bisson took guests on a highly entertaining trip down memory lane, with vintage photos from the collection of Richard Baker.

The following day, we welcomed guests back at Queen's for coffee and a tour with Heads of School Alfie and Adam, who really enjoyed meeting and chatting to Richard, Tim, Jim, Lionel, Jim and Roger.

Attending the event were: Stuart Berry, Peter Thomas, Mike Kinnersley, Lionel Frewin, Richard Coggan, Mike Gough, David Jones, Roger Evans, Richard Baker, Brian Palmer, Kit Robinson, Roy Barber, Jim Wiltshire, Richard Machell, Tim Mason, Paul Jacobs, Janet Thomas, Heather Baker, Katie Palmer, Katie Robinson, Anne Barber, Viv Lillywhite, Sheena Jacobs, Julian Noad (Head of College), Jane Noad (Head's wife), Michelle Hancock (Director of Development & Alumni) and Geoff Bisson (Archivist).
